Mr. Baker was living in Liberal, Kansas at the time of his death but was a former long-time resident at the Pickens plantation in Pickens, Arkansas.
At the time of his passing, other survivors include his wife, Audrey Baker; two sons, Isacc Baker and James Baker, both of Liberal, Kansas; five daughters, Maple Brooks of Pine Bluff and Levola Eatmon, Freddie Eatmon, Cathy Calloway and Sharon Jean Wells, all of Liberal; a brother, Houston Baker of Detroit, Michigan; and two sisters, Hattie Baker and Havana Baker, both of Chicago, Illinois.
Funeral services was held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 1986, at Syrene Baptist Church in Pickens, Arkansas with the Reverend C. L. Beal conducting the services.
Burial and committal was in Syrene Church Cemetery (around the grounds of Syrene Baptist Church on the southwestern edge of Pickens plantation, Pickens, Arkansas) by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas, Arkansas. ~~~~~~ + ~~~~~~
