J.L. Koestner dies at 51

J. Lloyd Koestner, 51, died suddenly Monday afternoon at his farm home near Highview. His death was attributed to a
heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. A.E. Rau officiating and
with burial in Graceland cemetery.

James Lloyd Koestner, son of William and Millie Burns Koestner, was born Aug. 21, 1918, at Duncombe. He was reared and educated in the schools of Hamilton county.

He was united in marriage April 9, 1939, to Jean Stahl, and the couple had always resided in the Highview community. For the past 25 years, they had farmed two and one-half miles northeast of Highview.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Newman, Rockford, HI., Larry Koestner of Ames and David Koestner at home; four grandchildren, Deborah, Donna and Greg Neuman and Tina Jo koestner; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Vivian) Charlson of Webster City, and Mrs. Aileine Richards of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Frank Koestner of Minnesota and Floyd Koestner of West Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, who died in infancy; three sisters including Mrs. Marie Dencklau, who died Sunday morning at the Hamilton County hospital.

Mr. Koestner was a member of the Grace United Methodist church in Webster City.
