DELPHI — William A. "Bill" Focken, 91,
South Hamilton St., died at
2:55 a m today in St. Elizabeth Healtcare
Center.
Born Oct. 23, 1900, in Danforth, Ill.,
he was the son of William Focken.
On May 6, 1959, he was married in Reno,
Nev., to Artie Flener, who survives.
Mr. Focken had lived in Delphi 27 years,
coming to the community from California,
where he had retired as a carpenter in
Oakland. He also had worked at Lafayette
Glass and had owned and operated bowling
alleys and restaurants in Fowler and
Watseka, Ill.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Focken
had served during World War II.
He was a member of Rockfield Christian
Church
Also surviving are six sons, Ray and Fred
Focken, both of Wateska, Ill., Charles
Focken, Chicago, Ill., Ralph and Harold
Cobbs, both of Monticello, and Paul Cobbs, Lafayette; three daughters, Myrl Huskey,
Mae Etta Carmichael, and Katherine Harber,
all of Delphi; one brother, John, Crescent
City, Ill.; one sister, Lena Harms, Danforth, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; 37
great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, two brothers, two sisters,
three grandchildren, and one
great-great-grandchild preceded in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday
in Horn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob
Cree officiating. Burial, with military
rites, will be in Morning Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday
in the funeral home.
