David Michael Weger,63,of Lafayette,Indiana,died at 1:25 a.m.,Sunday,January 14,2007,at his residence.
Born August 24,1943 to Delbert Weger,Jr. and the lateMargie L. Gurlie Weger in Lafayette, he graduated from high school in 1961, and from barber school in Indianapolis in 1962.
He was a veteran, serving two tours of duty in the Army during the Vietnam War. He recieved the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam ServiceMedal and two oversea bars.
His marriage was to Elizabeth "Liz" B. Winchester on February 25, 2004, and she survives.
Mr. Weger was a barber who worked in and owned several shops for more than 40 years.He was also employed at the Indiana Veteran's Home for 25 years until his retirement in 2006, and had co-owned CW Roadhouse in Montmorenci for 8 years.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Michael A. Weger(wife; Laurie)of Lafayette; a daughter, Samantha K. Weger of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Sara Daniels of Lafayette; a stepson, Jerry Daniels of Lafayette; a sister Sue Christopher (husband, Jerry) of Lafayette and his father, Delbert Weger,Jr.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel with service there at 11:00 a.m. Thursday the Reverend John Johnson officiating.Interment with American Legion Post 11 with graveside rites at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
