Lenora "Lee" Meyer, 89, of Aurora, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Hamilton Manor. Lee was born May 24, 1921, at Sybrant, to Zelda and Leonard Forbes.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.

Her mother passed away when Lee was 13 days old. She was then raised by her father and stepmother, Maude Lane.

Survivors are: children and their spouses, Richard and Connie Meyer of Aurora, Jann Meyer of Blue Hill, and Daveta and Dick Brader of Glenvil; sisters, Mildred Welton of Wenatchee, Wash., Sylva Dixon of Burwell, and Agnes Frahm and Ferne Briggs of Chambers; grandchildren and their spouses, Laurie Meyer, Keely Rogers, Bryan and LeAnne Meyer, Kasey and Jackie Rogers, Kevin Meyer, Justin and Stephanie Brader and Kerry Brader; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Lenora "Lee" May Meyer was a lifelong resident of Nebraska. On June 25, 1944, she married Walter Meyer at Denver, Colo. Their marriage was blessed by three children, Richard, Janeth and Daveta. Mrs. Meyer loved working on the family ranch south of Bassett with her husband. In addition, Mrs. Meyer taught rural school for 26 years.

Lee was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Bassett, where she was an active member until 1979, when she and her husband moved to Aurora and transferred membership to Messiah Lutheran Church. Mr. Meyer died on June 30, 1989.

Mrs. Meyer was an active Farm Bureau member while living in Rock County. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, gardening and cooking.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and stepmother; infant sister, Dorothy Forbes; brother, Raymond Forbes; and grandson, Brandon Brader.
