He was born Apr. 4,1921 in Pulaski Co.,KY to the late Jonas and Nora (Rowe)Brummett.
He was a retired produce broker and a member of the Church of God. Coy made his home in New Castle for many years. He owned and operated the Brummett's Fruit Market at 14th and Cherrywood. He was also employed at Dana Corporation. In his younger years,he did farming.
He is survived by four daughters:Linda Fears of Anderson,IN,Cheryl Brown of Texas,Francis (husband:Bob) Anderson of Punta Gorda,FL and Connie Bever of Anderson,IN;one son,Bruce Brummett of Nashville,GA;nine grandchildren;seven great grandchildren;three sisters: Lora Dean Schroluke and Margaret (Joe)Shaad,both of Avon and Mary Faye (Herb)Stage of New Castle;four brothers :Orville Kenneth (wife:Vivian)Brummett and Jerry (Phyllis) Brummett of New Castle:Jerry (Barbara)Brummett and Harry Brummett of Debary,FL;and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents;his wife, Helen Brummett;three brothers:Harold, Roy and Jim Brummett;and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Lovein Funeral Home on Apr. 1,2009 in Nashville,GA with Rev. Bob Holland and Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating. Burial was in Long Bridge Cemetery in Nashville, GA.
