Alvin J. Tilliard passed away on Sunday morning, February 27, 2011. Born on March 20th , 1914 in Tonet he is the son of the late William and Victoria (Vandervess) Tilliard. Alvin married the former Audrey DePeau on August 28th 1940. They were married for 65 years and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2005. He first worked at the Northern Paper Mill then started farming in the 1940s. Alvin farmed for 35 years. He enjoyed playing cards, eating ice cream, taking care of his cars, and loved being with the family. Alvin and his wife liked to travel. Their favorite thing to do was to go on picnics with family and friends. He will be missed very much.



He is survived by his daughter, Ruth (Ken) Tilliard Deterville; granddaughters, Holly Deterville, Sara Deterville (Jennifer Dye), and Christina Deterville (Joe Lowrey); grandson, Scott Deterville (Nathalie Defrenne); sister, Marie DeBaker; great granddaughter, Sierrah Deterville.



Alvin is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Audrey; brother-in-law, George DeBaker.



Visitation at St Joseph's Church in Champion, 5996 County Road K, Thursday from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial. Funeral 11 AM Thursday with Rev. Tom Hagendorf, O. Praem officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Malcore (East) Funeral Home is assisting the family.



We would like to give a special thanks to Rose LeCloux, Pete and Barb Beyers, and his sister Marie DeBaker for their continuous care they gave Alvin through the years. We would also like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice and St Vincent Hospital and all our neighbors for the help and care we received.
