Arthur was born to the late Amadon and Delia (Sessions) Aldrich. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Arthur was married in Farmington on August 19, 1950 to Cyrlena J. Allen and she preceded Arthur in death in 2008. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Haslett in 1978. Arthur was a tile setter for many years. He was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Aldrich is survived by two sons, Arthur G. Aldrich Jr. of Grand Rapids, and Charles(Christine) Aldrich of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Patricia Hurni of Haslett, and Colleen(Scott) Westerman of East Lansing; 14 Grand children; 6 Great Grandchildren; one brother, Paul(Carol) Aldrich of Fowlerville; one sister, Iva Vaughn of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents: wife, Cyrlena; son, Paul Aldrich, daughter, Anita Hampton, three sisters, Marie, Ellen, and Edna; two brothers, Fred and Harvey; and son-in-law, Jos Hurni.
Funeral services for Mr. Arthur G. Aldrich Sr. were conducted Monday March 7, 2011 at the Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Fr. John Byers officiating.
Those wishing to make memorial donations in Arthur's memory are asked to direct them to the family for hereditary cancer testing.
