Ellen married Elias Steen (1821-1888) of Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Her elder sister, Elizabeth Ann Taylor (1824-1908) had married Joseph Steen (c.1819-1861), Elias' brother. A third Steen brother, James Samuel Steen (c.1825-1864) married Louisa Taylor (c.1825-c.1859), a first cousin of Elizabeth and Ellen.
I am still attempting to compile a complete list of the children of Elias Steen and Ellen Taylor, but I have gaps. The children I have for them so far are: John Jackson Steen (1848-1906, m. Eliza C. Sellers, 2nd. m. Sarah Frances Sellers), William A. Steen (1849-1916, m. Laura E. Maske), Nancy Adeline Steen (c.1852-c.1917, m. Nathan Gibson), Mary "Polly" Steen (c.1852-?), James G. Steen (1855-1928, m. Lucy Jordan), Sarah Steen (c.1859-?) and Isaac Nicholas "Nick" Steen (1861-1941, m. Catherine A. Allen, 2nd. m. Nancy Jane Gulledge).
Thanks to Timothy Wayne Thomas for letting me know that Ellen is buried in this cemetery with her husband.
