Robert Edward "Bobby" Bertz, Jr. - SAVANNAH - Robert Edward "Bobby" Bertz, Jr., 50, of Savannah, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born Sept. 11, 1960 in Savannah, Ga., and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Windsor Forest High School, and attended Georgia Southern University. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hermie and Anna Meyers, paternal grandmother, Monica Bertz, and a brother in law, Michael Portwood, Sr. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as an Usher. He was an avid football fan and a devoted "Georgia Bulldawg". He was a beloved husband, father, son and friend to many. He was a "High Voltage" Electrician, employed by TSAY/Ferguson - Williams. He is survived by his wife, Pam Bird Bertz, of Savannah, Ga; a son, Robert Edward "Bo" Bertz, III; 3 daughters, Alison, Diana, and Caitlin Bertz, a granddaughter, Zoe Grace Norris, his parents, Bob and Ramona Bertz, mother in law, Louise Noble (Tom), a sister, Lisa Portwood, a brother, Brett Meyers Bertz (Suzanne), sister in laws, Marsha Price (Mark), and Kathie Roberts (Tim), three nieces, Caroline Portwood, Madeleine Bertz, and Candace Murphy (Jim), two nephews, Michael Portwood, Jr., and Sander Bertz, 2 grand nephews, Owen and Miles Murphy, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Peter Hartmann, officiating.
