Arthur Andrew Gebhard Jr., 83, of Roanoke, passed away on March 6, 2011, with his daughters by his side at the VA Hospital in Salem, Va. Arthur was born January 10, 1928, in New Hampshire to Arthur A. Gebhard Sr. and Hazel Dionne Gebhard and raised in Laconi, New Hampshire. After serving in the United States Navy, he settled in Roanoke. Arthur was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. His interest included family, bowling and skiing. He was a long time member of the Roanoke Ski Club and enjoyed skiing all around the world. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fred Gebhard; and a son, Joseph Gebhard. Arthur was survived by his children, Donna Gebhard Jinks and Debra Gebhard Amos; sisters, Edna Huff, Irene Capozza, Theresa Gebhard; grandchildren, Dallas G. Wilfong IV., Terril M. Powe, William E. Farmer III, Andrew L. Amos, Joseph A. Amos, Destin M. Jinks; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Powe, Trinity Powe, Nevaeh Amos; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church on Thursday, March 10, 2011, 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Miller officiating. The interment will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery. The visitation will be at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011.
