Mrs. Julia A. Salzsieder, 704 Tenth street, passed away this morning on her 73rd birthday about 7:10 o'clock, after a short illness. Mrs. Salzsieder was born in Posen, Germany, March 30, 1873, and came to the United States 62 years ago. She had resided in Oshkosh for the last 54 years, and was a member of Peace Lutheran church. The deceased was united in marriage to August Salzsieder June 20. 1895. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1937. One daughter died in infancy.
Mrs. Salzsieder was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schmaltz. Survivors include three sons. Albert, Herbert and Edward, Oshkosh; two daughters, Miss Erna Salzsieder and Mrs. Jack Warreni Oshkosh; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. Albert Hinz; one brother Herman Schmaltz; one step-brother, Charles Wojahn; two step-sisters, Mrs. Robert Wilson, and Mrs. Carl Dreyer, all of Oshkosh; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:30; o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Peace Lutheran church, the Rev. C J. Lange officiating. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran cemetery. The remains may be viewed at the residence from Monday afternoon to the time of the services. The casket will not be opened at the church.
