Mary I. Diebolt, 88, of Denton, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Atchison Medicalodge. Mary was born April 25, 1922 in Beardsley, KS the daughter of Joseph and Sara I. (Rooney) Studer. She attended school in Brewster, KS. Mary was very active in her community. She helped found the Meadowlark 4-H Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Mary was a wonderful seamstress, making many of her own children's clothes. She loved playing cards and getting together with the Denton Senior Group.

Mary married Warren Diebolt on October 16, 1940 in Goodland, KS. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter, Anna Mary Diebolt; brother, Hugh Studer; sisters, Vera Holub and Eva Passig.

Survivors include, a son, John (Nancy) Diebolt, Denton, KS; daughters, Linda (Gary) Genail, Atchison, KS; Mary Lou (L.G.) Cooper, Atchison, KS; Delores ‘Dolly' (David) Gudenkauf, Ozawkie, KS; Diann (Robert) Hull, Grove, OK; Joetta ‘Jo' (Paul) Lodholz, Houston, TX; brother, Joe Studer, Denver, CO; sister, Joan Beal, Goodland, KS, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at St. Benedict's Church, Bendena, KS, with Fr. Roderick Giller, OSB, as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Benedict's Church Cemetery.
