Michael M. Bormann, 49 of Minneapolis, Minnesota, formerly of Whittemore, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota, as results of a snowmobile accident.

A Funeral service will be held 7 PM Tuesday in the main sanctuary of Cedar Valley Church, 8600 South Bloomington Ave, Bloomington, MN. Visitation will begin at 5:30 PM Tuesday evening until service time at the church.

Michael Maurice Bormann was born July 12, 1961, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Maurice and Marlene (Bonstetter) Bormann. He grew up near Whittemore and graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1980.

On July 23, 1983, Mike was united in marriage to Mary Schlossin. After their marriage they lived in the Minneapolis area where Mike worked for Delta Airlines and was a self-employed contractor. They later divorced.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, his daughters and his nieces and nephews that lived in the Minneapolis area. He was known as a hard worker, but someone who also enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He loved to be on his snowmobile and had a passion for cars.

Mike died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was 49.

Mike is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Bormann, Rice, MN, and Krysta Bormann, Plymouth, MN; and one beautiful granddaughter Olivia Grace Bormann, Rice, MN; his parents Maurice and Eileen Bormann of West Bend; his siblings Patty (Terry) Hammer of Algona; Dave (Cathy) Bormann of Lakeville, MN; Ginny (Chad) Bormann-Thompson of Katy, TX; Nick (Jen) Bormann and Steve (Sara) Bormann all of Farmington, MN; Linda (Ron) Lickteig of Johnston, IA; Craig (Mary) Lampright of Stillwater, MN; and Connie (Jeff) Ludwig of Algona, IA; as well as his ex-wife, Mary Houk and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Bormann on April 25, 1979; grandparents; and three uncles, Rich Bormann, Rich and Leroy Bonnstetter.
