Laura was born to William Fredrick and Olga Rebecca (Sauer) Goetz. She was oldest of 3 daughters. She grew up in Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota and received her degree in Math and Science. She married John Ingvolt Holbeck on 18 Sept 1926 in Paynesville, Minnesota and they had 2 children, herbert and Joan. After her husband passed she moved to the Walla Walla nursing home where she passed. Funeral Services were held at the Lake Oswego Methodist Church.
