Big Timber Pioneer, December 4, 1952
Services Held For Ole J Langhus
Ole Jonas Lanaghus, prominent Big Timber creek rancher, died of a heart attack at his home Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services were conducted from the Big Timber Lutheran church Saturday, with Rev. Gilbert Oppen officiated. Music was by Mrs. A. Ronald McDonnell and Mrs. Ted C. Busha, accompanied at the organ by Kay Boe.
Pallbearers were Anton Solberg, Tom Anderson, John Boe, Emil Johnson, John Plaggemeyer and Emil Drivdahl. Interment was in Mountain View beside his wife who preceded him in death in 1938.
Mr. Langhus was born July 20, 1876, in Egersund, Norway, and came to this country when he was 18. He worked on various ranches in this area and at Forsyth, as a sheepherder, and then homesteaded on Big Timber creek, this homestead being a part of the present home ranch.
Mr. Langhus was married to Guri Ueland on April 6, 1912, in Livingston.
Survivors include a son, Samuel Langhus of Big Timber; three daughters, Mrs. Rasmus (Inga) Boe of McLeod, Miss Olga Langhus of Spokane, and Miss Guri Langhus of American Lake, Wash., also a sister, Mrs. H. Hammen of Sask., Can.
