Mr. Julke had been in poor health most of his life. He was employed at the Beckman Implement Company in Pilger and had served as chief of the volunteer fire department since 1961, serving as a member the past ten years.

A native of Germany, he came here with his parents in early boyhood.

Surviving are his wife, Vera, one son. David, eight years old, one daughter, Rebecca, two, his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Julke of Pilger, three sisters, Mrs. Dale Schulz of Pierre, South Dakota. Mrs. Melvin Brown of Sioux City, Iowa and Mrs. James Malcolm of Tangerine, Florida.
