J.D. Buckholz

A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Briarwood clubhouse at 1400 Candlelight Drive in Eugene for J.D. "Buck" Buckholz of Eugene, who died March 23 of age-­related causes. He was 82.

He was born May 28, 1928, in Hastings, Neb., to John and Eva Post Buckholz. He and his wife, Dolores, were married Sept. 11, 1989, in Reno, Nev.

A high school graduate, he served in the merchant marine and the Army. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug of Florida and Danny of Oregon; a daughter, Denise of Colorado; a stepdaughter, Sharon Cadwell of California; a stepson; Bob Sykes of California; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A son, David, died previously.

Arrangements by Alpha Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene.
