Sharon F. Ciganik, age 47, of Bass lake, Gowen, passed away Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2002, at her home, under the loving care of her family, friends and Hospice. The daughter of Gerald A. and Patricia Ann Thornburg Varney, she was born on Dec. 5, 1954 in Greenville. On May 6, 2002, in Gowen, she married Kevin Lee Ciganik. Sharon worked at K-mart in Greenville and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Ciganik of Gowen, mother, Patricia Varney of Greenville, children, Mark Varney and Tasha Oaks, Wendy Shelden and Chad Roberts and Tonya Shelden and James Schutz, Jr., all of Greenville, a stepson Jason and Nicole Ciganik of Gowen, two brothers and sister-in-law, Dan Varney and Russ and Linda Varney, all of Greenville, three grandchildren, Cody Varney, Bryant Ciganik and Brandon Ciganik, her parents-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Greenville and William and Karen Ciganik of Plant City, Fla., and five sisters-in-law and their husbands, Victoria and James Hampton of Grand Rapids, Rebecca Petersen of Vestaburg, and Pam Ciganik of Rockford, many aunts and uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and life-long special friends, Debbie and Jerry Hoye of Howard City. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald A. Varney on Aug. 20, 2001. and a brother, Terry C. Varney on Nov. 13, 1998. Graveside services are 1 p.m., Wednesday at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, with Elder William "Bill" Bauman of the Community of Christ Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
