The daughter of Charles Anton Keim and Regina Fuhler, Anna married George Edward Friedel on 29 Apr 1925 in Brussels, Calhoun County, Illinois.

He was a farmer, and they were the parents of 12 children. 1 of their daughters became a nun, and 1 of their sons also joined a religious order.

At the time of her death at VIP Manor, Anna was 86 years, 10 months and 8 days old.

She was survived by 5 sons, Charles Friedel of Bushnell, Illinois, Gabe Friedel of Batchtown, Illinois, Pat Friedel also of Batchtown, George Friedel of Granite City, Illinois, and Joe Friedel of Hardin, Illinois; 2 daughters, Sister Mary Gabriel of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rita Klaas of Meppen, Illinois; 47 grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, George; 4 sons, Paul, Aloys, Ed and Brother Norbert Friedel; 1 daughter, Ethel Lehr; 1 granddaughter, Joyce Marie Friedel; 1 brother, Tony Kiem; and 2 sisters, Clara Sievers and Helen Hoemmen.

Visitation was held on 17 Dec 1991 at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Brussels, Illinois. A prayer service took place there at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Meppen. She was buried next to her husband, George, who passed away in 1969.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the Passionist Community and Sisters of Divine Providence.

Visitation was held on 27 Dec 1969 at the C. C. Hanks Funeral Home in Brussels, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on the morning of 29 Dec 1969 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Meppen, Illinois.

George's wife, Anna, passed away in 1991 and was buried next to him.
