A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at 9:35 p.m. at her home. She was 90 and a native of Burtville. Visiting at New Southside Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Visiting at Greater Beulah Baptist Church from 5 p.m. until religious service at 8 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Darrick Johnson. Dismissal at noon Saturday. Interment in Stockade Cemetery . She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Faye Smart Dickerson and Arthur Dickerson Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert "A.C." Sr. and Rose Smart and Junius Jr. "Juicy" and Edna Smart; a devoted cousin, Dorothy Bashful; 45 grandchildren, including a grandson whom she reared, Albert Smart, and a devoted grandson, Elder Arthur Dickerson Jr.; 60 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius Smart Sr.; daughters, Geraldine Williams and Jean Audrey Smart; mother, Hannah Green; father, James Bush; son, Nathaniel Smart Sr.; sisters and brothers including, Viola Banks, Mary Daigre, David Green, Isaiah Walter, the Rev. Herbert C. Hills and Wilson Bush.
