Peter Porcher Gaillard died Thursday, March 24, 2011. He was a native of Mobile and a graduate of McGill Institute, Springhill College and the LSU Graduate School of Banking. Peter retired from Regions Bank, formerly Merchants National Bank, and was currently employed at BankTrust. He is survived by his wife Bernard Ladd Gaillard, his son Peter Porcher Gaillard, Jr. and his wife Lorie and his daughters Mary Ladd Gaillard Turner and her husband Monroe and Caroline Gaillard. He is also survived by his grandchildren Anna Grace Turner, Peter McCoy Gaillard, Charles Lester Gaillard, Noel Bradley Turner and Anne Patton Gaillard, his brother Thomas Octavius Gaillard, Jr. and his sister Martha Gaillard Teague. Pallbearers will be Dr. William Bibb Lamar III, Palmer Gaillard Whiting, Patrick Benton Ladd, Thomas Octavius Gaillard, III, Christopher Alan Teague, Samuel Gaillard Teague, David Brown Teague and Ernest Fleetwood Ladd IV. Readers will be Allen Hunter Ladd and Michael Chapman Rogers. Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph's Chapel at Springhill College at 5:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2011 with The Reverend W. Bry Shields and The Reverend Mark H. Wilson officiating. Visitation will proceed the service at 4:00. There will be a private family burial at Pine Crest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gaillard Pancreatic Cancer Research Endowment Fund c/o The Mitchell Cancer Institute, 650 Clinic Drive, Room 2150, Mobile, AL 36688.
