August Steinkemp Was Active in Masonry

Arrangements were being completed Monday, for the funeral services for August Steinkemp, 79, 232 Erkenbrecker Ave., founder and owner of the A. Steinkemp & Co., who died in Bethesda Hospital Sunday after an illness of two weeks. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Emma Barth Steinkemp.

Steinkemp dissolved his furniture business three years ago, but continued a business office of the company until the time of his death. He was vice president for the Sun Mutual Fire Insurance Co., director of both the People's and Washington Banks; was active in Masonic circles, being a member of Hanselmann Lodge and Commandery, of Kilwinning Chapter and the Eastern Star, and was a member of William Tell Lodge, Independent Circle of Odd Fellows, the Cincinnati Club, General Protestant Orphan Home and the Altenheim
