Dennis was born on October 29, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa to Arnold E. and Helen W. Deitering. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael Deitering.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Vogt Deitering of Odem, Texas; his sons, Dennis (Tawnye) Deitering, Patrick Deitering, Bill Deitering all of San Diego, California; his daughters, Mary Helen (Elliott) Witts, Joan (Daniel) Aimsoorth all of San Diego, California; four grandchildren; his step-children, Louise (Gary) Rice of Jasper, Texas; Barbara Jo (Oscar) Hamm of Grand Prairie, Texas; Delbert Grozier of Odem, Texas; three step-grandchildren; five brothers: Cyrl Deitering of Spokane, Washington, John Deitering and Joe Deitering of Buffalo, Minnesota, Terry Deitering of Roscoe, Illinois, and Frank Deitering of Martin, Illinois; six sisters: Betty Simpson of Pinnellas Park, Florida, Donna Chalheub of Mankato, Minnesota, Diane Peterson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Evelyn Deitering of Aurora, Illinois, and Louise Hennessy of Loves Park, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 1999 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening in the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 1999 in the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be held at Seaside Memorial Park.
