Mrs. Emily Arnest Griffith Murphy, died Thursday, March 12, 1998 at her residence in Manassas. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Murphy and her son, Robert Murphy, Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary M. Walker of Mount Holly and Diane M. Hellinger of Manassas; three granddaughters, Beverly W. Donovan, Margaret M. McKaig and Katherine W. Hellinger; one grandson, R. Karl Hellinger and a great-granddaughter, Talley Griffith Gregory.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Cople Parish and a graduate of the University of Virginia Hospital School of Nursing.
Funeral services were held March 16, at Yeocomico Episcopal Church, Tucker Hill with the Rev. Philip Wainwright officiating assisted by Rev. Stuart Schadt, Trinity Church, Manassas. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Tayloe Griffith, William Payne Griffith, Robert Karl Hellinger, Robert Richards McKaig, Warren Elliott Donovan, Charles Tayloe Griffith, Phillip Griffith Heffner and Joseph Greco.
