Lillian I. Pettis
Lillian I. Pettis, 78, of Altoona died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona.
She was born on April 5, 1922, in Hanska, Minnesota, to the late Mathias and Hilda (Finstad) Wang. On August 15, 1942, Lillian married Newell Pettis in Newark, New Jersey. For 25 years, she worked as the Clerk-Treasurer of the city of Altoona. Lillian enjoyed being with her family and spending time at their cabin in Winter. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Newell; daughter, Cynthia (Harold) Tomlinson of Pardeeville, Wis.; son, Greg (Phyllis) of Huron, S.D.; grandchildren, Lyle (Suzie) Tomlinson, Ryan Tomlinson, Stacey (Monty) Thury and Danielle Pettis; great-grandchildren, Joshua Tomlinson and Kaleb Albertson; sister, Dagney Brownell of Eau Claire; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Conrad Wang; and a sister, Helen (Margaret) Flaten.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2001, at Evergreen Funeral Home, Golf Road (1 block East of Hwy. 93) with the Reverend Tim Vanden Langenberg officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Gardens.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
