Mr. Holthaus was a farmer and stockman and a former dairyman.
He was born June 13, 1916, at St. Benedict, the son of Bernard and Bernadine Myrose Holthaus.
Mr. Holthaus was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church at Horton.
He was married to Emma Deters on Sept. 4, 1945, at Baileyville. She survives. Mr. Holthaus was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Holthaus.
Other survivors include four sons, Stanley, Jim and Mike, all of Horton; Clint Holthaus, Hiawatha; three daughters, Barbara Jones, Goff, Kathy Handke, Atchison and Ruby Heinen, Denton; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sat. at St. Leo's Catholic Church and burial will be in the church cemetery.
