Yvonne B. Neal, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 13, 1998, at her home.
She was born March 5, 1920, at St. Marys, daughter of Russell Myers and Stella Roseman Bienert. She and James Robert Neal were married May 21, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas. He died Jan. 10, 1985.
Neal received a degree in reading and education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1971, and received a master of arts degree in 1994.
She taught at Morehouse, Leopold, Franklin School in Cape Girardeau, and was director of special services at Delta R-5 School District for more than 20 years.
Neal was a member of St. Vincent's Cahtolic Church and the Mission Club, Retired Teachers Association, International Reading Association, a garden club, and had been a board member of the Mental Health Association.
Survivors include five sons, Michael Neal of Manassas, Va., Patrick and Kevin Neal of Cape Girardeau, Jim and Shawn Neal of Kansas City: a daughter, Susan Pekios of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ruth Payne of St. Louis, Marjorie Johnson of Garland, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Revs. Milton Ryan and Jay Friedel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
