Frederick Lutjelusche, 71 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, at 2:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Paul Rowoldt officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion, Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and continue on Friday from 1:00 PM until service time, all at the funeral home. Memorial are directed to the wishes of the family.
Fred was born August 1, 1939, in rural Platte County, Nebraska, to John and Alvina (Johannes) Lutjelusche. He attended rural Platte County grade school and graduated from Columbus High School. From 1960 - 1966, Fred was a member of the United States Army Reserves. On January 18, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sharon Klassen in Albion, Nebraska. He was a member of the American Legion, Legion Riders, ABATE (American Bikers Association Towards Education), a life member of the NRA, American Rifle Association, and a retired member of the Scorpions Motorcycle Club. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and had a great sense of humor.
