Peter Christopher Hill passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, in Sutherland Springs, Texas. He was born in Floresville on Feb. 24, 1981, to John and Carolyn Hill.

It is difficult to sum up such a magnificent life in a few words. Peter was always larger than life, and everything he did reflected his bold personality. He filled many roles in his short but richly blessed life. He was always quick to say, "I am blessed," and "God is Good!" He was a true servant of God and was devoted to sharing the Gospel with everyone he met. He believed in living without regrets, and his many accomplishments speak for themselves.

Peter was married to the love of his life for 10 years. Together they lived each day as a new adventure. They were blessed with five beautiful children. His children are grateful to him for everything he taught them and will always cherish the wonderful time they had with their Daddy.

He is remembered by his many friends and family members for his generosity, his strong character, and his charming smile. He had a cheerful heart and even in the depths of his illness, he found joy in life.

He was employed at Texaloy Foundry in Floresville as special projects manager. He was a member of the Sutherland Springs Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, as well as leading Bible study groups at work and at home. He loved refurbishing old Jeeps, trucks, and other vehicles and machines. He was a skilled welder and could build or repair anything of metal. He could fix anything … except maybe the cat!

Peter made a great impression on many people in his short lifetime and will be remembered fondly.

Peter was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Weber and Mildred "Dutch" Hill; and his uncles, Lee Anthony Hill and David Uhlig.

He is survived by his parents; his wife, Crystal Champion Hill of Sutherland Springs; his children, 2 sons and 3 daughters; his siblings, Mark Hill and wife Cherie of Floresville, Torie Hill of San Antonio, and Dorothy Hill of Floresville; his grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Uhlig of Floresville; and his nieces and nephew, Lillian Hill, Raelyn Hiser, and Shane Flores.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, April 12, at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

A benefit fund has been set up at the First National Bank, 545 10th St., Floresville, TX 78114, c/o Crystal Hill, 551648.
