ELDRIDGE, Iowa -- Services for Norman L. Muhs, 69, Eldridge, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, where military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 639, Eldridge.
Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Norman died Friday, May 4, 2001, at his home.
He was a farmer his entire life on the family century farm in Eldridge. He was the only Eldridge farmer to have the sale of the century which helped the North Scott District and Eldridge.
He was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Eldridge, to Amos and Clara (Buttenob) Muhs. He married Lois Mumm Claussen in November 1980 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, (1951-1953).
Norman was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eldridge; American Legion Post 639, Eldridge; Eldridge Sportsman Club; and Knights of Pythian.
He took great pride in his equipment (back hoe, dozer and tractor).
Memorials may be made to Eldridge Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; brothers, Harold Muhs, Billings, Mont., and La Vern Muhs, Birmingham, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Kuhl.
