Sister Maria Amada Villarreal, 76, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. She was born on September 9, 1934 in Robstown, Texas to Joaquin Villarreal, Jr. and Maria Magdalena Villarreal. Sister Maria Amada entered the religious order of the Missionary Daughters of the Most Pure Virgin Mary on September 3, 1953 and has faithfully served our Lord until he called her home on April 20, 2011. She got her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and graduated with her Masters Degree in Administration from Texas A & I University in Kingsville. Sister Maria Amada worked most of her life as a teacher and principal of St. Anthony's Catholic School in Robstown, but also taught at St. Martin's Catholic School in Kingsville, St. Joseph's Catholic School in Sunnyside, Washington, and at Our Lady of Sorrows in Mc Allen, Texas. She loved to teach elementary students and was also very active with many other school and church organizations but she especially had a love and passion for the missionary work she did in Aquismon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico especially taking food and clothing to the needy. She was a very loving and caring person whom will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

She goes home to reunite with her parents, Joaquin and Maria Magdalena Villarreal, Jr., and a brother, Jose Angel Villarreal who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her extended family, the Missionary Daughters of the Most Pure Virgin Mary, one brother: Joaquin Villarreal, III of Robstown, Texas, three sisters: Luz Elida Villarreal Gonzalez and Imelda Villarreal Jimenez both of Robstown, Texas and Marta Irene Villarreal Foley of Waldwick, New Jersey. She was also blessed and adored by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 will begin at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jose Naul Ordonez of St. Martin Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials may be made in memory of Sister Maria Amada Villarreal to Mother Julia's Project, 919 North 9th Street, Kingsville, Texas, 78363 or to St. Anthony's Catholic School, 203 Dunne Ave, Robstown, Texas, 78380.

Pallbearers will be Dagoberto Gonzalez, Richard Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, Robert Villarreal, Joe Villarreal and Luis Briones.
