Delaware Farmer Dies of Injuries in Fall from Ladder
Manchester, IA - Florian Steffen, 57, well-known farmer of near Greeley, died Wednesday in a local hospital of injurries suffered Monday afternoon at his farm when he fell 30 feet from a ladder upon which he was standing to paint his barn.
He was brought here by ambulance as soon as he was found in an unconscious condition by his son, Edmund and never regained consciousness. His injuries included a fractured pelvis.
He was born in Luxemburg, Dubuque County, Iowa, April 6,1881, married Mary Schulte Fed 4, 1912, and lived near Luxemburg until three years ago, when he moved to a farm near Greeley.
Survivors are the widow, three daughters, Frances, Clara and Esther, and three sons, Edmund and Albert all at home, and Clarance, at Luxemburg.
