Cold Brook— Josef Franken, 86, of the town of Ohio, died yesterday in Herkimer Hospital.
He was born in Germany and came to this country as a young man. He was a self-employed machinist and a former town of Ohio assessor. He also operated a general store.
He was a former member of the past paster of the North Star Grange and a member of the Herkimer Elks.
He leaves several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in Ohio Cemetery.
