Jamel Jordan Hutton 10/2/80 - 4/26/07. Jamel was born to Lillie Hutton and the late Lee Murph Hutton and was the father of one daughter, Jordan. He was educated in the Philadelphia Parochial School System and employed as a concierge at 101 Chaezwold Lane, Haverford, PA. Jamel was an Eagle Scout in troop 195 where he was a great leader to the younger scouts. He enjoyed playing football, basketball ,baseball and swimming. He also loved all aspects of scouting including camping, cooking, first aid and knot tying and was extremely competitive as we battled for merit badges. One thing I will always remember is when we were on a camping trip and Jamel and I decided to go swimming. I wasn't a great swimmer but Jamel was more advanced. When he jumped in the deep end of the pool, I decided to do the same. Unfortunately, I didn't immediately come up so he jumped back in and pulled me out to safety. This is just a small example of his quick instincts and selfless consideration of others and what bonded us even more as best friends. Notibly, Jamel was known for his budding rap career where was extremely talented and gifted with stage presence. Jamel's earthly journey ended while on his way to work, possibly due to road rage, at Marshall Road and Cobbs Creek Parkway. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Upper Darby Police Department, Detective Pekco or Chief Michael Chitwood at 610-352-7050.
