Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away early Saturday morning, January 1, 2005 at his home with his family at his side. Age 66 years. He was born June 9, 1938 in Saginaw, the son of Mary (Reis) and Louis Antal.

He served with the US Army. He owned and operated Antal's Market for 25 years, making many friends at the daily coffee sessions where locals gathered to solve the world's problems.

Prior to that, he was a truck driver for Huron Cement. Rudy loved working around his farm and would spend hours in the seat of one of his tractors. He was a great conversationalist and was a selfless giver to those in need.

He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church., served on the Spaulding Township Tax Review Board, was a member of the N.R.A. and a member of Moose Lodge #82.

He married Nancy Allore on May 5, 1962; she survives him.

He also leaves two daughters, two sons and their spouses, Kathy and Joel Dezelah, Hemlock; Joseph and Colleen Antal, Montrose; Karen Antal and Bob Binder, Saginaw; David and Tammy Antal, Saginaw; four grandchildren, Zachary and Brett Dezelah, Jarrod Griffus and Morganne Antal; three brothers, Franklin (Marilyn) Antal, James Antal, and Richard Antal, all of Saginaw; two sisters, Mary Ann (William) Gosen, Saginaw and Louise (Gerald) Young, Tawas; three brothers-in-law Roger (Harriet) Zank, Saginaw; John Allore, Merrill; Jerry (Vivian) Allore, Brooklyn, NY; several nieces and nephews.

A brother Richard Antal predeceased him.

Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Road. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, OFM, Cap., will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Cemetery, Saginaw. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday where they may meet at 7:00 p.m. for a vigil service. Friends and family may then call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or the Saginaw Rescue Mission.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mary Gosen, his loving sister, for the wonderful care she gave to Rudy and for the family support. Also thanks to Dr. Rajoulh, Dr. Rejleh, Dr. Ernie Balcueva and nurses. Dr. Arbabi, Dr. Farrah, Dr. Capelli, Dr. James Mertz, Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice, Saint Mary's Hospital and staff of 4 south, 5 south and 7 south.
