Chadwick, March 21 – Funeral services for William W. Schreiner, 81, retired farmer who died after a paralytic stroke Sunday morning at his home, were held today at 1:30 p.m. at the residence and at 2 p.m. at Hope Evangelical church. The Rev. L.M. Phillips officiated and burial was in Chadwick Cemetery.
Mr. Schreiner, the son of Carl and Anna Elizabeth Schreiner, was born on the Schreiner homestead in Salem Township Feb,. 18, 1858. He was married Oct. 7, 1885, to Emma D. Loeffler, who died May 6, 1918. On Jan. 18, 1921, he was married to Frieda Schmeling.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. E.R. Mest; two sons, Albert and Lloyd, and seven grandchildren, all of Chadwick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, two sons, Walter and William, a sister, Elizabeth, and five brothers, Henry, Charles, Fred, John, and George.
