Margelia E. "Midge" (Fournier) Alverson, age 76, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.

Midge was born July 30, 1934 in Bath, a daughter of Francis & Pauline (Jolly) Voorhees. Midge retired after 38 years of dedicated service for the Dansville Central School District where she taught many grade levels, including librarian. In addition to her parents, Midge was also predeceased by her first husband Richard Fournier in 2003, her mother-in-law, Cecilia Fournier, her brother, Francis Voorhees and a grandson, Richard Hawker Fournier in 2008.

Midge was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community; St. Mary's Church. Dansville.

Midge enjoyed singing in the church choir, local folk groups, the Waylandaires and she was an avid crafter, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Midge is survived by her husband, Raymond; her daughters, Ann (Jim) Nichols of Wayland, Teresa Scully of Rochester, Catherine Fournier (Sarah Brauchle) of Elbridge, NY, Christine Bovee & Julie (Brian) Stoner all of Dansville; several step-children; her grandchildren, Richard (Char) Bennett, Joshua Bovee, Jeremy Bovee, Lauren & Eric Stoner, George & Heather Brauchle; 4 great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews & cousins.
