Alice Marie Chisholm, 89, of Brainerd, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at noon at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. There also will be a visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Alice Marie was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Oak Lawn Township to Oscar and Hattie (Graber) Borg. Alice attended school in Brainerd. On July 9, 1936, she was united in marriage to Erwin Chisholm in Brainerd. Following their marriage they moved to California for a short time. They returned to Brainerd where they lived in Oak Lawn Township for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Mary Margaret Guild. The most important thing to Alice was spending time with her family. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and collecting lawn ornaments.
Alice is survived by her children, LaVerne (Joan) Chisholm, Harlan "Chink" (Sally) Chisholm and Danny (Sharon) Chisholm, all of Brainerd; one daughter, Mary Ann (Pete) Probasco, of Palmer, Alaska; adopted sister, Virginia Christle, of Brainerd; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; daughter, Marlene; son, Larry; two sisters; and seven brothers.
Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
