Florence Ryan, 83, Clatskanie, Ore., died in Longview, Wash., Nov, 22, 1996.
Services for Mrs. Ryan will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Weckel of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ryan will lie in state on Monday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Florence Ryan was born March 6, 1913 to Ernest John and Rosa Belle (Pope) Kidd. She grew up in the Red River and Lamar County areas of Texas, later living also in California and Arizona. She married Darrell Desmond Ryan on Oct. 6, 1937 and they moved to Carlsbad in 1955. She moved to Clatskanie in March, 1996. Her husband preceded her in death in 1978. She was a long-time member of the Extension Club in Carlsbad.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell Dean Ryan and Melvin Douglas Ryan, both of Clatskanie, Ore., Terry Lynn Ryan, Carlsbad; one brother, Wiley Kidd, Carlsbad; two sisters, Edna Hare of Carlsbad, Martha F. Denton, San Angelo, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
