Esther V. Uffelman age 97 of York, NE formerly of the Waco, NE area died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Utica, NE. She was born February 10, 1914 at Waco, NE to Paul and Laura (Wellman) Kottke. Esther was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church at Waco where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards with the Cherry Lot Card Club and various other card clubs as well. On December 13, 1933 she was married to Edmund A. Uffelman at Lincoln, NE.

She is survived by her son R.J. "Jim" and his wife Jan Uffelman of York, daughters; Donna B. Knorr of Pleasant Hill, MO and Connie Davis of York. Her grandchildren include; Marsha and her husband Gaylon Clark of Pleasant Hill MO., Brenda and her husband Nick Ederer also of Pleasant Hill, MO, Kirk and his wife Cindy Uffelman of Burleson, TX, Kelly Kogel of Castle Rock, CO. Kristie Burke and friend Bill Ericson of Lincoln, NE, Jacque Reichert of Little Rock, CO. 14 Great Grandchildren 2 Great Great Grandsons. Nices and nephews, 1 step grandson Steve Davis of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, three sisters – in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, 2 sons –in-law Larry Davis and Norman Knorr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco with burial in St. John's Cemetery south of Waco. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., Thursday evening with her family greeting friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Friday evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
