Body Will Be Brought Here Today for Burial Tomorrow.
Funeral services for the late Col J. Sims Allen, 84 years old, who died Monday afternoon at Gainesville, Fla., will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at tho First Presbyterian Church. Eleventh and Louisiana streets. The Rev. John S. Edenburn will officiate. Burial will bo In Oakland cemetery.
Colonel Allen, among the best known of Little Rock business men, was vice president of the Scott-Mayer Commission Company, which he helped to form 25 years ago. He was born in Virginia and came to Des Arc, Ark Just prior to tho Civil War. After the war he engaged In business in that town and later, removed to Little Rock, where he had been actively engaged with his Interests in the Scott-Mayer Company.
Failing health caused his resignation from active business life two months ago and with the Rev. and Mrs. George F. Bell of Crocker, MO., the latter his daughter, went to Florlda for his health. Owing to his advanced age, his health was too badly impaired and his death resulted. The Rev. and Mrs. Bell will accompany the body to Little Rock, arriving today.
During the past few years. Colonel Allen had maintained no home In Little Rock, but divided his time between a large plantation near Atkins, Ark., and the home of his daughter In Crocker, Mo.
