Services will be held at 10 am Friday from the Sacred Heart Church for Mrs. Lena Draves, 71, who died Tuesday after a long illness.

Born on Oct. 22, 1890, in Monroe, she was married to Archie Cameron in Novemer 1908 in Gladwin. He died on Nov. 24, 1934.

She was married to Otto Draves on Aug. 25, 1943 at Midland.

Mrs. Draves was a member of the Altar Society, Winegars Ladies Aid, Little Flower Mission Group and the Home Extension Group.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dennis Brubaker of Gladwin, one sister, Mrs. Dan Whitman, Gladwin; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 step-children, Mrs. Delbert Morgan and Edward Coleman, Earl, Clyde, Floyd, and Mrs. Pearle Dice of Midland, Harley and James of Sanford, Lorn of Merrill, Robert of Glendale Calif., Paul, Ft. Knox, Ky., Louis, USN, 7th Fleet, Mrs. Arthur Staley, Prudenville, and Eleanor of Lapeer.

The Rev. Father George H Artman will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

A Rosary will be said Thursday night at 8 pm in the Miner Chapel.

Note: Though Lena's obit says she was born in Monroe it is more likely that she was born in Emerald Township, Paulding,Ohio where her mother, Mary Elizabeth Beaudry Beaubien died in 1895. Her father, Henry, moved to Gladwin in 1901 with his family of 4 children, having already buried son, Leo,with his mother in Junction Cemetery in Paulding, Ohio. Gladwin County Record dated 6-9/1965 Column - 6 Page - 1.
