Visitation and Services
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Joel Jenkins and Reverend John Bivins officiating. Interment will follow in the Moores Chapel Cemetery with Timothy Ryan George, Michael Lee George, Jonathan George, Jamey Haynes, Tommy Haynes, Mack Haynes and Marcus Tanner Anderson serving as pallbearers. A Dove release will conclude the services. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P. M. Tuesday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.

Jim Rush Funeral Homes 220 Wildwood Avenue, S.E. 2600 North Ocoee Street Cleveland, TN 37311 Phone 423-472-4555 Fax 423-472-2012 March 10, 2008 Don "Gene" George, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2008 at the family residence. Mr. George was the son of the late Fannie Shell George and Don Ottis George. His daughter, Sharon George, his son, Danny George, his grandson, Justin Eslinger and his sisters, Lula Officer, Mildred Mikels and Helen Branam also preceded him in death. Mr. George was an U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Hardwick/Maytag after 36 years of service. Mr. George enjoyed the outdoors, including doing yard work and playing with his dogs. He was of the Church of God Faith. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Shannon George of Old Fort, his daughters, Regina George of Cleveland, Kim Passmore and her husband Jeff of Benton and Bridgett Morrow and her husband Monty of Old Fort, his sons, Troy A. George and his wife Christinia and Roy M. George and his wife Lisa all of Cleveland, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
