Majel D. Worley, 76, of Terre Haute, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, in Union Hospital. She was a retired clerk in the loan department at Merchants National Bank. She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Parke County to Scott Coombes and Stella Martin Coombes. Her husband, Glenn Austin Worley, preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2000. Survivors include one son, Jack Worley and his wife Patti; two sisters, Barbara A. Coombes Akers and Linda Coombes Frey; two sisters-in-law, Betty Coombes and Mary Jane Coombes; three grandchildren; Zachary Worley, Ali McLaughlin and Lexy McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; five sisters; and one son, Rick McLaughlin. She was a member of Terre Haute Women's Bowling Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972, member of the Women's Auxiliary and a member of AARP.
