Police are still investigating the circumstances of Mr. Reina's death.
A lifelong resident of Silver Lake, Mr. Reina served as an altar boy at his parish, Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Brighton, for several years.
He became an Eagle Scout with Troop 19 of Calvary Presbyterian Church in West Brighton, and painted light poles in Silver Lake Park as part of his project.
Mr. Reina graduated in 2009 from Monsignor Farrell High School, and attended the State University of New York at Binghamton. He had recently transferred to the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook.
Mr. Reina had worked in his father's restaurant and tavern, Karl's Klipper in St. George, since the age of thirteen, and was currently working there full-time.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed camping trips.
"He was very well-liked, easygoing, very helpful to other people," said his father, Karl.
Surviving are his parents, Karl and the fomer Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Johnson; his sister, Michele Raina; and his grandmothers, Michele Reina and Gail Reynolds.
The funeral will be held on Thursday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
