Betty J. Ramsden, 81, of Manistique, Michigan died on May 22, 2011 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.
She was born April 18, 1930 in Manistique, the daughter of Erling ad Marian (Sidlo) Andersen, Sr. and attended Manistique area schools. She was a graduate of Manistique High School.
In her younger years, Betty was employed as a hairdresser at Helen Moon's Beauty Shop in Manistique.
On April 28, 1960 she married Alfred "Buck" Halsey in Manistique. He preceded her on July 21, 1969.
She later married Charles "Chick" Ramsden on July 15, 1977 and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1997.
Betty enjoyed cooking, especially for others, going on shopping trips, reading, puzzle books and rocking on the front porch with her favorite cat, Thomas. She was an avid WWF wrestling fan. Most important to her was the time she was able to spend with her family.
Betty is survived by her niece, Robbin (Phil Main) Larson of Manistique; nephews, David Larson of Manistique and James (Sharon) Skeen of Atlanta, GA; great niece, Katie Larson of Manistique; great nephews, Kyle Larson of Manistique and Steven Larson of New York; great-great nephew, Collin Larson of Manistique; step daughter, Loretta Schultz of Ishpeming; step son, Ray Ramsden of Ishpeming; along with her step grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brother, Erling Anderson, Jr.; and her sisters, Joyce Larson and Shirley Napier.
Private services were held by the immediate family at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique with Reverend Don Bedwell officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.
