Joseph H Stundebeck was born in Germany on January 3, 1887 to Joseph & Elizabeth Stundebeck. He immigrated to U.S. with his parents & siblings when he was 6 months old. The Stundebeck family settled on a farm outside of Melrose, Minn.
The father, Joseph Stundebeck, died in 1892. Elizabeth Stundebeck was now a widow with 5 children. On July 2, 1893, she married Henry Enneking. There were no children from this union.
In 1913 Joseph, the son, moved from the farm into Melrose to start a plumbing and heating business. One of the early contracts he received was the plumbing & heating for the new St. Marys Rectory in Melrose.
Joseph Stundebeck married married Mary Pfeiffer on May 17, 1921 and the couple had two children. Their son, Charles J. Stundebeck took over the family business in 1956 when his father retired.
Joseph Stundebeck died in March 1961, his wife Mary Pfeiffer Stundebeck died in Sept 1982, and their son Charlie Stundebeck died in Feb 1998.
