Funeral Home Owner is Dead at Mt. Calvary
Frank Mannenbach Dies at Hospital in City after Months Illness

Frank P. Mannenbach, 55, funeral director at Mt. Calvary for 30 years and manager for the Mt. Calvary Coal and Lumber Company the last quarter of a century, died at 8 a.m. today at St. Agnes Hospital where he had been a patient since Monday. His death resulted from a heart ailment.

Widely known throughout the eastern part of the county, Mr. Mannenbach, was born November 15, 1892, at Mt. Calvary, a son of John and Elizabeth [should be Gertrude] Mannenbach, and always lived there. As a youth he attended the parochial school at St. Joe. His marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bleuel was solemnized November 23, 1915, in Holy Cross Church at Mt. Calvary.

A member of Holy Cross Church, Mr. Mannenbach belonged to the Holy Name and St. Anthony societies of the parish and also to Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and to the Wisconsin Funeral Directors' Association.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Jerome Mannenbach, who became a business associate of his father two years ago, and Francis and Earl Mannenbach, all of Mt. Calvary; three daughters, Mrs. Aloys Krebsbach of Johnsburg and Gladys and Joan, at home; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Schroeder, Milwaukee, Mrs. Frank Bleuel, city, and Mrs. Anton Dreifuerst, Mt. Calvary.

The body will be at the residence after 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Funeral Rites Are Conducted at Mt. Calvary
Frank P. Mannenbach Buried in Holy Cross Plat after Solemn Requiem

Funeral services for Frank P. Mannenbach, 55, funeral director at Mt. Calvary the last 30 years and manager of the Mt. Calvary Coal and Lumber Company there, who died Thursday, were held at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the residence and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary, Burial was in the cemetery.

A solemn requiem Mass was read by the Rev. Josaphat Muesing, O.M. Cap., pastor of Holy Cross Church, with the Rev. Robert Hoeller of St. Peter as deacon, the Rev. Charles Neu of St. Mary, Marytown, as sub-deacon, and the Rev. Ephrem Hertel, O.M. Cap. of St. Joseph, St. Joe as master of ceremonies. The Rev. Joseph Herod of St. Mary Springs Academy was seated in the sanctuary.

The men's choir of which Mr. Mannenbach had been a member for some 35 years sang the Mass. Members of the Holy Name Society, St. Anthony Society, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, and Knights of Columbus attended the services.

Cross bearer was Anthony Fritz. Honorary pallbearers were Nicholas Abler, Jr., Felix Ditter, Peter Abhold, Math Holzmann, William Frey and Herman Will; active pallbearers were Clarence Schneider, Eugene Dreifuerst, Alois Mannenbach, Hermenegeld Bleuel, Harold Abler and Aloys Bleuel, nephews of Mr. Mannenbach.

Mr. Mannenbach was born Nov. 15, 1892, at Mt. Calvary, a son of the late John and Gertrude Steffen Mannenbach. Part of his youth was spent at Johnsburg and St. Joe. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Bleuel Nov. 23, 1915 in Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary by the Rev. Pacificus Raith, O.M. Cap.

Survivors are his widow, three sons, Jerome Mannenbach, a business associate of his father, and Francis and Earl of Mt. Calvary; three daughters, Mrs. Aloys Krebsbach of Johnsburg, and Gladys and Joan at home; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna C. Schneider of Milwaukee, Mrs. Frank N. Bleuel, city, and Mrs. Anton Dreifuerst, Mt. Calvary. Two brothers preceded him in death, Alois and John.

Attending the funeral from away were the Rev. Fulgence Petrie, O.M. Cap. of Calvary; Mr. and Mrs. Frank N. Bleuel and son, Hermenegeld, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bleuel, Mrs. Katherine Steffen, and Anton Sippel of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bleuel and family of Byron; Mr. and Mrs. John Steffen of Stanley; Mrs. Susan Braun of Wausau.
