Robert L. Forney, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1992, at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Dr. Louis R. Forney of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Shelby Township officiating. He is also a nephew of the deceased.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery in Oil City. Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Forney was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Samuel C. Forney and Linda Huber Forney.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and employed in the oil fields as a general laborer and as a truck driver for Chippewa Beverage Co. of Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by a daughter, Shelly Barnes of Ayden, N.C.; a son, Samuel Forney of Mt. Pleasant; three stepchildren, Kimberly Schafer of Weidman, Larry Claybaugh Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., and Trisia Vesley of Pemrose, Colo.; a brother, J.C. Forney and his wife Evelyn of Oscoda; seven sisters, Catherine Buxton and her husband. Charles of South Bend, Ind., Ruth Stork of Rosebush, Burness Nethers of Mt. Pleasant, Elva Nothstine of Mt. Pleasant, Belva Moore of Akron, Ohio, Florest Anduser of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeannette Smith of Dallas.Texas; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia in 1980
